Dog walker stabbed in Niagara Falls

Victim was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries

On Oct. 16, 2021 at approximately 6:30 p.m., 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers attended the area of Drummond Road and Taylor Street in the City of Niagara Falls for a stabbing.

Investigation revealed a 38-year-old male was walking his dog in the area when a 44-year-old male operating his vehicle pulled along side the 38-year-old male an exited his vehicle.

The two males engaged in a verbal altercation. As a result, the 44-year-old male stabbed the 38-year-old male. The victim was able to break free and call out to pedestrians and motorists to contact police. The suspect then fled the area.

Officers were able to locate the suspect shortly after the incident and he was placed under arrest.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Joshua D. Anderson (44 years old) of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offence of:
    •    aggravated assault

Anderson was held in custody and was expected to appear in court on Oct. 17, 2021.
