Detectives seeking info on fatal fire in St. Catharines

Police say they are looking for information from the public in relation to a fire last week in St. Catharines that resulted in a woman's death.

Police say on Monday, March 25, at around 6:50 a.m., officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Division Street and Frank Street for a fire call.

Police say a detached garage at the rear of a residence was engulfed in flames.

The St. Catharines Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.

An adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the fire, police said in a news release.

1 District detectives are conducting the investigation and are working with the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office and the Office of the Coroner.

Detectives are looking for anyone with information about the fire or who may have been in the area overnight from late March 24 until 7 a.m. March 25.
