Detectives seek public help identifying Thorold robbery suspect

On December 17, 2022, at 10:16 p.m. Niagara Regional Police Service officers responded to a robbery at Subway, located at 8 Clairmont Street, in Thorold.

Investigation has determined a lone male suspect entered the store and passed a note to an employee alleging he had a gun, before demanding money from the cash register.  The suspect proceeded to flee the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The employee did not sustain any physical injuries and no gun was ever seen.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • Male
  • White
  • 40-50 years
  • six-feet tall
  • 180 lbs

The suspect was last seen wearing:

  • Black face mask
  • Dark blue hooded sweatshirt
  • Grey pants

Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigative Branch have assumed the investigation and have exhausted means of identifying the suspect.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the lead detective by dialing 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009590.
