In April of 2021, detectives with 5 District (Fort Erie), with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), commenced an investigation in relation to break and enters occurring at summer residences, in the Crystal Beach Area.
As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the male suspect.
On April 20, 2021, detectives with 5 District (Fort Erie) located and arrested the suspect.
Shawn Murphy (27 years old) of Fort Erie was arrested and charged with:
- Break and enter
- Break and enter with intent
Murphy was held for a bail hearing on April 21, 2021.
Detectives are continuing to investigate other break and enters, and thefts that occurred in the area.
