BREAKING: Police charge man, 43, in double homicide in St. Catharines

Charges are in relation to suspicious deaths Monday of two 75-year-olds on Elma Street

Police say they have made an arrest in the deaths earlier this week of two 75-year-olds in St. Catharines.

Sean Owens, 43, of St. Catharines has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, Niagara Regional Police say.

Police found Celine-Marie Owens and Harold Owens dead in a home on Elma Street near Scott Street and Dorothy Street on Monday shortly after the noon hour.

Police were at the home in response to an ambulance call.

Police did not specify the relationship between the accused and the victims.

Sean Owens is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing Friday at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Sean Owens is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
