Arrest made in Sikh Temple theft investigation

Oct. 5 update:
As a result of the investigation and help from the public detectives were able to identify the suspect.

Andrew Greville (33 years old) of Fort Erie was arrested and charged with the following offence of:
    •    theft

Greville was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on Oct. 5, 2021.

Original Sept. 29 release:
On Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021 at approximately 3:40 p.m., 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers, were called to attend the Sikh Temple and Community Centre located at 8405 Lundy's Lane within the City of Niagara Falls in response to a belated theft call.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 10:10 a.m., a male had entered the prayer room of the temple, and stole a locked donation bin. The male then fled the area on foot southbound across the street to the Americana resort parking lot. The male is then observed entering a silver or grey four-door sedan. The vehicle exited the parking lot then headed east on Lundy's Lane toward Kalar.

The male is described as:

  • White
  • Male
  • Tall

Clothing Description:

  • Black "Zoo York" hooded sweater
  • Black baseball hat
  • Black face mask
  • Sunglasses
  • Green/army style cargo shorts
  • Black socks
  • Bright red/orange coloured sandals.

The Niagara Regional Police Service are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
