Armed robber targets two gas stations in 25-minute crime spree

Robberies occurred in Niagara Falls early Wednesday morning; police say suspect 'is believed to be armed and dangerous'

On June 29, 2022, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the Lake) responded to a back-to-back gas station robberies at 4:50 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. in the City of Niagara Falls. The first robbery occurred in the area of Drummond Road and McLeod Road and the second robbery occurred in the area of Thorold Stone Road and Dorchester Road.

Initial investigation has revealed a suspect entered both gas stations, brandished a handgun, and obtained an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and lottery tickets before fleeing the scene.

Detectives assigned to the 2 District Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) have assumed carriage of the investigation. Detectives have acquired surveillance footage of the suspect and have reason to believe the two robberies were committed by the same suspect.

The suspect is described as:

  • male
  • white
  • 35 to 45 years of age
  • blond hair (in a bun and shaved on the sides)
  • wearing sunglasses
  • wearing a dark hoodie
  • wearing dark sweatpants
  • wearing black boots

Detectives are appealing to members of the public for assistance identifying the suspect who is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Members of the public should not approach and are encouraged to contact 911 immediately.
