7:45 p.m. update
On Thursday, June 18, 2020 at approximately 12:15 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines) uniform officers responded to the area of Lockhart Drive and Headworks Road, in the City of St. Catharines in regards to a sexual assault that had just occurred.
Detectives have been able to update the suspect's description.
The suspect is described as:
- Tan skin
- 25-35 years old
- 5’7-5’10
- 140-145 lbs
- Dark eyes
- Scruffy facial hair
- Dark short, wavy hair
- Skinny athletic "strong" build
Clothing Description:
- Black pants
- Grey shirt with black pattern or symbol on the front
Anyone with information, who may have witnessed the incident, or may have been in the area, is asked to call detectives from the Sexual Assault Unit at 905-688-4111 ext. 9359.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020 at approximately 12:15 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines) uniform officers responded to the area of Lockhart Drive and Headworks Road in the City of St. Catharines in regards to a sexual assault that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a female with serious injuries.
The Initial investigation revealed that a female in her 70s was walking along the trails in the area of Hydro Hill. Subsequently, an unknown male grabbed the female and forced her into the bushes where she was sexually assaulted.
The male then fled the scene on foot through the public trails. The female victim was able to seek assistance from a passerby.
The female was transported to a local hospital by Niagara EMS paramedics.
The Niagara Regional Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect.
The suspect is described as:
• White, tan skin
• 5’4
• Dark hair
• Skinny athletic "strong" build
Clothing description:
• Dark pants
• Grey shirt with pattern
The identity of the suspect is unknown. The Niagara Regional Police are asking members of the public to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious persons to the police.
The Niagara Regional Police is asking members of the public to stay out of the area and off the trails as the investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
