Ontario reports 742 people in hospital with COVID-19 and 244 in intensive care

Ontario is reporting 742 people in hospital with COVID-19 today, and 244 in intensive care.

That's compared with 751 in hospital and 241 in ICUs on Wednesday.

Ontario is also reporting 14 more deaths due to COVID-19.

There were 2,125 new COVID-19 cases logged, though the province's top doctor has said the actual number of new cases is likely ten times what's reported, since access to testing is limited.

About seven per cent of the province's long-term care homes are reporting outbreaks of COVID-19.

No schools were closed for operational reasons Wednesday.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published March 10, 2022.
