Born February 5, 1924 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia. Died peacefully, surrounded by love, on August 17, 2021. Our beautiful Mom, Gramma, Nana, Great Gramma has gone to be with her husband Alexander (2011) and her son George (1987) and her constant companion Mitzi. Ellen is survived by her children, Sandy, Debbie (Bob), Bill (Monica) and Jason (Sara); grandchildren Kris (Natalie), Kolin (Tracy), Mike, (Crystal), Jesse (Candice), Kyle (Rhonda), Bree, Cassandra and Jacob. Great grandchildren Tommy, Josh, Avery, Finley, Rory, Bryson, Brody, Kylie, Braydon and Gavin. Ellen was predeceased by her parents George and Amanda and her 15 siblings. Ellen was the last remaining of the MacIsaac clan in Cape Breton. She will be dearly missed by her good friend Peggy. Ellen lovingly dedicated her life to her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart. We will always cherish our memories of family gatherings. In winter, skating, playing hockey on the rink in the back yard or on frozen ponds. In summer we enjoyed northern vacations, picnics, volleyball, badminton, and swimming. She prepared the most delicious Ukrainian dishes for her family including pyrohy, holubtsi, meat sticks and her special desert known as Peggy's recipe. A highlight of the summer for all the grandchildren was her "unbirthday" party where every child's birthday was celebrated. Grandchildren always left with a little bit of money slipped into a pocket or hand. Gramma T. loved attending every event that her children and grandchildren participated in - she was at every baseball, soccer, hockey game, graduation and concert and she was always the proudest person in attendance. She was a very accomplished ice skater and taught all of us to skate as soon as we could walk. Ellen always had a smile for everyone and was very mischievous. If there was a water fight, she was usually the instigator. Mom loved music and was an incredible dancer. This love of music led her to becoming the manager of our Dad's band "Al Tatarnic and the Starlighters". We have so many memories and will miss her dearly. Mom taught us to be gentle, kind and always help others. A service will take place at a later date to be announced.
