1941-2024
The family of Gavin Swartz announces his passing on Wednesday, January 9, 2024 at the Woodlands at Sunset Long Term Care home at 82 years of age. Gavin is survived by his wife of 38 years, Veronica (nee Giret). He was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Agnes, and his first wife Lynne (1979) and brother, Bruce, and best friend, Kobalt.
Gavin is survived by his brothers, Neil and Mark (Sharon), brothers-in-law, Ron Darco, Ron and Jim Giret (Kathy) and sister-in-law, Ellie Ruddle.
Gavin leaves behind his sons, Darren, Darcy (Debbie) and Duane (Jen), seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces throughout Canada and the United States.
Gavin worked at Thompson Products/TRW Canada for 38 years as a toolmaker and was active in the hockey and baseball community in St. Catharines. He was the best neighbour one could have and will be remembered fondly by the Woodelm Drive Gang.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place with internment to take place in the future. The family wishes to invite all able to attend a celebration of life from 12-4 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Grantham Lions Club, 732 Niagara Street, St. Catharines.
