1925 - 2023
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Niagara Long Term Care Residence, NOTL in her 98th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Albert Wesley Sauer (2000). Loving mother of Jennifer Sartor (Peacock) and her husband Greg, and Shelley Zammit (Peacock) and her husband Ray. Cherished grandmother of Brandon, Kerry, Cole, Trevor and Nicola. Proud great grandmother (GG) of Aidan, Aubrey, Brynn, Penelope and Xavier. Stepmother of Brenda Doiron and her family. Lovingly remembered by Lori Pirson and her family. Predeceased by her brothers Roy Gardner, Percy, Howard and Walter Diebel.
Grace was a fiercely independent woman who never stopped learning, living and forging her own path. She was a teacher with the former Lincoln County Board of Education, beginning her career in a one room schoolhouse in Jordan, ON. She excelled at every kind of needlework imaginable, bestowing many beautiful gifts to her family. A lover of the written word, she was always reading and writing heartfelt notes and verses. She took great pride in her family and loved to celebrate their many milestones and accomplishments. Grace loved her two canine companions, both named Mickey, who kept her going for many years. She volunteered at the Open Arms Mission in Welland, the Welland Public Library and the Welland Hospital Gift Shop. We will cherish the many beautiful memories of a long life well lived.

A private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. The memorial service to celebrate Grace will take place at the Pelham Community Church on Monday, October 23rd at 11:00 am.
