Peacefully, at home on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Gilda passed away at age 89. Predeceased by her husband, Saverio and her parents. Francesco and Luigina. Loving mother to Dominic and Rita. She leaves behind her sisters Mary Broccolo and Carmela Valstar. Also predeceased by her brother Leonard and sisters Rita Dickinson and Nina Aiello. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gilda loved cooking big meals for everyone. She loved knitting and crochet, her flower garden and putting up Christmas decorations. She faced every obstacle with courage and determination, right until the end. Friends will be received on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold from 2:00- 4:00 and 6:00 -8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
