PETRYCHANKO, Joan Lorraine (nee Griffiths)

In her 91st year, Joan Petrychanko (nee Griffiths) quietly passed away. Joan was predeceased by her husband Roy (1984), and leaves behind her long-time companion, Steve Coakley. Joan was immensely proud of, and will be greatly missed, by her children Michael (Sue) and Todd; her grandchildren Mike (Meredith), Mark, Josh and Luke, and her great-grandson Henry. Joan is survived by her eldest brother, Evan (Ella) Griffiths, and is predeceased by her siblings Ivy (Roy) Leather, Billy (Lillian) Griffiths, and Derwyn (Janie) Griffiths and her sister-in-law, Stella (Eddie) Skursky. Joan will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Joan lived a life well-lived and enjoyed opening her house for many gatherings of family and friends over the years. She was well travelled and greatly enjoyed sharing her love of travel with her children and grandchildren. Joan had many great trips to visit family in Wales and England and enjoyed many adventures throughout Europe and Asia with her family. The family will receive friends at the HAINE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Monday from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, October 4th at 11:00am. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Thorold.
