PETRAROIA, RAIMONDO “Ray” – Peacefully, with all of his family surrounding him in the home he helped to build, and lived in since coming to Canada, on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Beloved husband to Rosanna (née DiFruscia) for 55 years. Devoted Dad to Remo (Kara), Anrita (Randy) D’Angela, Julie (Osman) Erzinclioglu and predeceased by his son Mario (2010). Loving Nonno to Tanner, Brady, Annarose and Ezmi. Ray is survived by his brother Vince (Clelia), predeceased by his parents Rinaldo and Maria Libera and his sister Chiarina (Angelo) Testa. Zio Raimondo will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and his extended family in Canada and Italy. Leaving Italy at the age of 18, with only a suitcase, Ray arrived in Canada on a Friday, and started working construction the following Monday. He spent his career as an assistant manager in the bakery at several grocery stores. He loved to be outdoors, building things and working in his garden. Visitors will be received a BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 2:00- 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Vigil prayers will be recited at 2:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold on Monday at 11 AM. Rite of Committal Lakeview Cemetery. Donations in Ray’s memory in lieu of flowers may be made to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Canada.
