McLAREN, AUDREY JOAN - At the age of 100, Audrey of Niagara Falls passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023, at Niagara Health – Port Colborne Site. Audrey is survived by granddaughter, Dawn Bailey (Byron), great-grandchildren, Jasmine Rosa Bailey and Byron John Robert Bailey, Jr., and a host of loving relatives and dear friends. She was born February 7, 1923 to parents, Henry Owen and Kate Owen (nee Fishleigh) in Morriston, Glamorgan, Wales. Audrey married Donald McLaren in 1946 in Bideford, Devon, England. The couple relocated to Canada in the 50's. They had one son, Robert Donald McLaren. She was known for her keen sense of style and love of animals. She began each day with her mantra, "Everyday is a good day." Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Kate Owen, her sisters, Marcie Short, Phyllis Turner and Joyce Elliott, her husband, Donald McLaren and her son, Robert McLaren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Guests are encouraged to wear or accessorize in Audrey's favorite colors, lavender and/or yellow.
