Peacefully, on December 9th, 2023, Jean Manley passed away at the age of 95.

Beloved wife of the late Calvin Manley.  Cherished mother of Marlene (the late Glyn), William (Laura) and Catharine.  She will be missed by her grandchildren, LeeAnn (Steve), Andrea, Calvin and her great grandson Brennan.  Dear sister of Edith and sister-in-law of Jeannette.  She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents, Abraham and Edith, brother Joseph and sister Elizabeth.

Jean worked at the A&P for over 25 years, always greeting her customers with a smile.  She was active in her community, volunteering at the Canadian Blood Services for many years and was ready to help at any charity that needed support.  Jean’s social life was enviable!  She will be missed by her weekly poker gals and lifelong friends, Ida, Carol, Sharon and Shirley (deceased).  Many Saturday movie nights were enjoyed with her dear friend Sandra. Jean enjoyed swimming, walking at Oaks Park, and cheering on her favourite teams - the Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs.

You could find her any day, dancing in the kitchen, singing along with her “Blues” favourites while baking up a storm.  You could count on her great hospitality as she loved to get together with family and friends.  Jean was always smiling, had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed a good laugh.  She was truly one of a kind!  A kind and loving mother, grandmother and aunt who treasured spending time with her family.  Jean was so very proud of her grandchildren and great grandson, Brennan.  He brought her so much joy and she was his biggest fan.  Her unconditional love, unwavering support and thoughtful advice which were so instrumental in her family’s lives will never be forgotten.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Fiona Halliday for her compassion and care of our mother.  With appreciation to the PSWs, nurses and administrative staff of Queenston Place and a special thank you to Sandy for her support.  Thank you to the PSWs from HCCSS and to Heidi for her kindness.

In honouring Jean’s wishes, private family arrangements have taken place.  Memorial donations to Project Share https://donate.mytributegift.org/Service?cid=09833ce4cde15bacc8d7a9573dd58023801873c5bef47eefc726c9b0646fcf73 or The Salvation Army https://donate.mytributegift.org/Service?cid=09833ce4cde15bacc8d7a9573dd58023801873c5bef47eefc726c9b0646fcf73 would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street) 289-362-1144.  Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
