It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear son & brother, Bruce Elliott MacLeod. He passed peacefully, in his sleep Thursday, September 28, 2023. Bruce was born & raised in St. Catharines and is survived by his mother, Pauline Leadley, and his sister, Ferne Holmes (Gary). Uncle of Scott Holmes, Ami Holmes (Andrew), Michael Rennette and Matthew Rennette (Leslie); grand-nephews, Preston & Evan, and many cousins & relatives in St. Catharines, Toronto, Nova Scotia and PEI, who all enjoyed his Taurus charm.
Bruce was predeceased by his father, George Elliott MacLeod (2010), and sister, Colleen Ann Rennette (2020) and his stepfather, Tom Leadley (2017). In his younger years, Bruce had worked for The City of St. Catharines, moved on to landscaping and later at The Pizza Center. Bruce belonged to the former St. Paul Street United Church, now Silver Spire United Church. He enjoyed the Fellowship of Roots on Thursday evenings in the past few years. He loved trips to the east coast, camping in Dunnville and Big Valley in the summer with family, Mom & step Dad and enjoyed playing cards with his buddies. He was a calm, quiet, easy-going guy & made friends easily, he enjoyed golfing with his brother-in-law, Gary, and watching golf and Toronto Maple Leafs "GO Leafs GO". He was lucky to have won $100,000 in the 70's & always hoped for that big win again! A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm at Victoria Lawn Cemetery on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Following the service at Victoria Lawn, all are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life 351 Geneva St., St. Catharines, in the social room on the lower level.
