Kain, Michael “Mijo” August 10, 1939 – January 22, 2023

Michael’s “girls” are deeply saddened to announce the death of our wonderful husband, father and grandfather, Michael Kain, on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at the age of 83. He was a sweet, quiet, kind man who greatly loved his family, gardening, dancing and a good hat. Born 1 of 9 children in Jaśkovo, Croatia, he left home at 17, eventually making his way to Canada. He met the love of his life Radmila “Seka” and their love story grew over 59 years, adding to their family two daughters, Anita (Warren) and Gloria (Darryl), and three granddaughters, Lauren (Craig), Rebecca and Natalie. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church 360 River Road, Welland, at 12:00 PM. Rite of Committal Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Thank you to the exceptional staff at Tabor Manor, St. Catharines, and special gratitude to his loving caregiver, Zsuzsanna Johnson and support of Aisha Kone. In lieu of flowers and in honour of one of Michael’s favourite women, the family gratefully invites donations to support pancreatic cancer research at Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation
