Girotti, Guerino “Scotty” - Passed peacefully with his family by his side on September 24, 2023 at Niagara Health St. Catharines Site at the age of 93. Survived by his wife of over 60 years Anna. Devoted father to Michael (Phyllis), Marie and Gary (Sarah). Proud grandfather to Jennifer (Cory), Michael Jr. (Gerriann), Emily and Justin. Loving great-grand father to Chloe, Jake, Ella, Olivia and Owen. Scotty will be greatly missed by his two surviving brothers Dino (the late Ida) and Mario (the late Theresa) and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Silvio (Josefine), Nello (Lavrina), Marino (Anne) and Mary (Olivio). Scotty, with his brothers, owned and operated Hy-Grade Precast Concrete for over 40 years. Scotty was always the life of the party and lived to make people laugh. He loved fishing and golfing and sports in general. He was inducted into the Thorold sports Runway of Recognition in 2013. He was very active in the Community, serving for 58 years as a member of the Merritton Lions Club, member of the Merritton Fire department. Scotty was a man of faith and long-term member of the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council 2319. In his retirement he volunteered with Meals-On-Wheels for over 15 years.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold. Vigil prayers will be recited at 3:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold at on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Scotty will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
