FRANCESCHINI, MARIA AMALIA “EMILY” (née Colombo) – Surrounded by the love of her family, peacefully at Millennium Trail Manor Niagara Falls on Monday, January 29, 2024 in her 78th year. Amalia is reunited with her beloved husband Giovanni “John”. Devoted Mom to Jennifer (Jason) Meuser. Proud and adoring Nonna to Joshua who she devoted much love and attention, and his beautiful daughter Payton. Sister to Giovanni Colombo and Rosanna (Antonio) Mucci. Sister-in-law to Maria (the late Nicola) Raimondo. Amalia is predeceased by her parents Flaviano and Rosina, her sister-in-law Lucia (Giovanni) Petrella and brother-in-law Pasquale (surviving spouse Michelina). Sadly missed by her “Angel” Catharine Mulhall who provided so much love and support to Amalia. Amalia will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and her neighbors on Rose Avenue. Always remembered as a talented cook and a gifted seamstress who walked as a way of life, Amalia’s giving spirit saw her supporting her community in any way she could: with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart serving communion in the community; with the Catholic Women’s League of Holy Rosary working in the gift shop and at the bazaars; and as an active and devoted parishioner at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, prior to her move to Millennium Trail Manor. Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 1:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Vigil prayers recited at 3:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold at 10:00 AM. Rite of Committal Lakeview Cemetery. If desired, donations to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church Building Fund or the Catechist Sisters Of The Sacred Heart Of Thorold. Online condolences may be left at www.Bocchinfusofh.com.
