Peacefully, on Monday, October 9th at Northland Pointe Long Term Care in Port Colborne, Carolyn passed away in her 98th year.  Now reunited with her husband David (2010), daughter Kathyrn and grandson David.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Robert (Jean), Doug and Barbara (Don). Beloved grandmother to Jessica (David), Marisa (Phil), Caleb (Kelly), Douglas (Alicia) and Carolyn, and great grandmother to Amira, Soleil, Julian, Shiloh, Spencer, Eli, and Eden. She was predeceased by her four other siblings, Audrey, Stephen. Jim and Mary.

Born in Winnipeg in 1926, she had family and friends there that she maintained throughout her life. Her Norwood group from elementary school and her friends from the University of Manitoba met routinely for reunions for years after Carolyn left Winnipeg.

Most of Carolyn's married life was spent in Sarnia with stops along the way in Dawson Creek and Ft. McMurray. She was active in the IODE, University Women's Club, and found time to be on the Board of Education. She also loved curling, golf, skiing and bridge. She was a great swimmer and swam competitively in her early years. Her favourite memories were probably the simpler ones: times spent swimming and sunning on the shores of Lake Huron!

Carolyn's love for nature was undeniable. Whether it was a stroll in the woods, a hike up a mountain, or simply watching the birds, Carolyn found joy in every part of the natural world.

A talented painter, Carolyn's love for nature was reflected in her art. Her many original paintings are cherished mementos of Carolyn's beautiful gift.

Carolyn was often seen with a camera in hand, capturing the smiles of the ones she loved. Her many snapshots serve as beautiful reminders of the joy Carolyn found in the company of family and friends.

Carolyn is remembered for her laughter - bold and heartwarming. Her memory will live on in the laughter of her children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her.

In keeping with Carolyn's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to honor Carolyn's life will take place at Pelham Community Church, 461 Canboro Road Fenwick on October 28th at 11:00 with lunch to follow.

Donations can be made to Pelham Community Church.
