We are grateful that his suffering has ended, but heartbroken to announce that on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024 Joseph Anthony Orelio DiFruscio passed away at 70 years of age.  Joe’s wife, Susan (nee Croft) of nearly 50 years shares her sorrow with their daughters, Christine (Jeff) Chin and Jennifer (Gavin) Lea along with their four grandchildren, Reshaun, Marcus, Victoria and Kacee.

Joe held a special bond with his sisters & brothers-in-law, Karen & Bob Schneider, Barb & Ed Werner and Barry & Sandy Croft and their children.  Joe also leaves behind his sister, Lisa DiFruscio & brothers, Brian, Danny, Stan and their spouses.  Our lively therapy dog, Tucker, will definitely feel Joe’s absence.

Although Joe was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia 3 years ago, he was fortunate enough to have been retired for 20 years from GM.  He looked forward to our weekly golf outings and our yearly trips to Florida, but his favourite time was spent with our family.  Joe’s legacy will live on through our family, whom he cherished with every fiber of his being.

We want to thank the following people, who contributed to helping Joe & myself during the difficult times; St. Elizabeth PSW’s (Desiree & Louise, Linn - Case Manager and Kelly Roy), Dr. Tim Tatzel & his Assistant Nurse V., Dr. Safronyas, Nurse Practitoners of MAID - Melanie & Diane, Considerate Cremation & Burial Services Directors: Bruce & Holly.

In honour of Joe’s life & his love for his family February 19th is Family Day … turn off your laptops, cell phones, video games & enjoy this day as a family.

As per Joe’s request a private family gathering will be held.  Memorial donations to Alzheimer Society - Niagara Region would be appreciated.  https://donate.mytributegift.org/Service?cid=aa2770303d39551da1392ea62d94a3f0f97f6f042949f13418ac695e8f97a168

Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144.  Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
