It is with profound sadness that the family of Remo DeProphetis (son of Giulio and Iolanda DeProphetis) announce his peaceful passing on October 7th at the early age of 54 years, just 3 days short of his 55th birthday, after enduring a courageous battle with cancer.  He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 21 years, Josephine, and his three daughters, Julia, Sophia and Ava.

He will also be clearly missed by his brother, Steven, sister-in-law, Nancy, and niece, Samantha (Dale) and their two children, Vienna and Paislee and nephew, Eric (Cassidy). As well as his brother, Sergio and his nieces, Stephanie and Vanessa and nephew Julian. He will be greatly missed by his father and mother-in-law, Ugo and Lucia Angrilli, his brother-in-law, Paul (Ruth) Angrilli and nieces, Lucy and Leah.

Remo enjoyed the simple things life brought, such as being outdoors and puttering around the house and the garden, while listening to the laughter and giggles of his children playing in the pool. He was a devoted family man and stressed the importance of having supper as a family every evening, maintaining a close relationship with his parents and in-laws and most of all, Remo taught his family to never miss an opportunity to say, “I love you” to those we care for. His wife and three daughters will always remember him for his great sense of humour, endless amounts of stories and jokes, life lessons and advice, always being there for his family, but most importantly, how much he adored and loved them all.

The words, “I love you like crazy” will be permanently etched in their minds forever. During childhood and growing up through to his adult years, Remo has had many relatives and friends that he has held dear to his heart and he will be greatly missed by them all.  The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to all the family members and friends that have helped, visited, and showed compassion through this difficult time. The family would also like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to all the staff, nurses and doctors at the Juravinski Cancer Centre and Hospital, the St. Catharines General Hospital and the Niagara on the Lake Community Palliative Care Centre. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to any of the above care facilities mentioned is greatly appreciated. https://donate.mytributegift.org/Servicecid=2ce355f2c6010837503253e30ac3fc366dfa11c62412b159ea562743fbb1fe69

In honouring Remo’s wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation at Considerate Cremation and Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street and Scott Street), 289-362-1144, will take place on Monday October 16, 2023 from 2 – 5 p.m.   Online condolences may be made at  CCBSCares.ca
