Peacefully and with her loving family by her side, was called to heaven on February 24, 2023 at the age of 95 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her beloved husband Peter (2016) of 70 years. Loving mother of Alida, Grace (Tony), Carmelinda (Dan) and Laura. She is survived by her sister-in-law Rosa Rondinone, son-in-law Greg Van Nest, nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Italy. A special friend to many, she will be fondly remembered and missed. Angelina was born in Pisticci, Matera, Italy on November 16, 1927 and immigrated to Canada in 1954 where she joined her husband and established their new home in Thorold. A very talented seamstress, she enjoyed a long career working into her seventies. A gifted cook, baker, and gardener, she made everything with love and especially enjoyed feeding her family and friends. Angelina faced cancer with courage and positivity and never let it impede the things she loved to do. Her strong faith brought her much comfort. An exceptionally strong woman, she took great pride in that she was able to care for herself in her home until the last few weeks of her life. The family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ian Poon, Dr. Kevin Higgins and Dr. Lise Huynh of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre- Odette Cancer Centre for their exceptional care of our mother. Special thanks to pharmacist Mike at Henderson’s Pharmacy, home nurse Babes, and the staff at McNally House Hospice for their compassionate care. Thank you to Rev. Kessete Hammad, Rev.
