It is with great sadness that the family of Geri announces her passing on December 17th of 2023 at the age of 76. Just like her life, she fought a very long and hard battle.
Geri was married to the love of her life, Neil, for 56 years. Together they had two amazing children, Matt Coles (Crystal Thompson) and Melanie Vanderlee. She was so proud of her four grandchildren: Meredith, Dylan, Jack, Maya and her two bonus grandchildren: Grace and Abbey. Geri will be missed so much by her brother, Colin (Marguerite), brother-in-law, Jack Shaw, sister-in-law, Laura Langelaan (Tony), sister-in-law, Elenor Coles, sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Warren and Brian and Theresa. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many very special friends.
Geri is predeceased by her mother, Mary Florida McKinnon, her sisters: Elda, Joyce (Albert) and Norma, her brother, Paul, mother-in-law, Ina May Peacock, sister-in-law, Joyce and brothers-in-law, Harold and Hank.
Geri sold Real Estate for many years and was a very big part of the community. She was loved by so many. Heartfelt thanks to the compassionate care by the nursing staff at NHS-Welland Site and the NHS-St. Catharines Dialysis Unit.
In honouring Geri’s wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday and from 11-1 pm Friday, December 22, 2023 at Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144. A private family graveside service will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in May 2024. Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
