September 1948 – September 2023

Karen’s difficult and courageous journey over the past seven years has ended. She passed peacefully on Saturday September 9th, in the arms of her friends and loved ones. We’ve lost our muse, our guide, our mentor, our warrior, our friend. She’s moved on to even greater things, we’re sure. As with all things, there were good and bad parts of the journey: the bad, we knew that it would end like this; but the good was that we were able to spend much wonderful, loving, quality, and joyful time with Karen. We were together as she passed; she knew how we loved and cherished her. And now, she knows we will be strong, that we will survive this, and that we will continue to love and cherish her. Her love and her wisdom sustained us. Sustains us. We will never forget. Karen was a long-time resident of Brampton, teaching for the Dufferin-Peel Catholic Board for more than 30 years. She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Ford, two children, Michael (Morgan), Melanie (Jonathan), and two grandchildren, Finn, and Fay. A memorial will be held in the near future.
