It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jan on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the age of 69. Jan is predeceased by her parents, Oliver and Audrey Charlton. Cherished mother of Matthew and Emily Demers. Dear sister of Chris and Doreen Charlton and Val and Bruce Gillespie. Fondly remembered by her niece, Amanda, and nephew, Chris.
She was a second Mom to many of Matt’s friends over the years and welcomed all with open arms. Jan cherished her friendships with Lesley, Wendy, Claudia, Robin, Rebecca and Martha with whom she spent many joyful hours. Jan was loved and will be fondly remembered by her many family, friends, co-workers at Niagara Region Public Health. She was a believer in the healing power of Reiki and crystals and practiced for many years. In honouring Jan’s wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26th from 2-4 pm followed by a service at 4 pm.
