Surrounded by his family, Ross passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 73 years of age, two years after a major stroke.
He was the beloved husband, of 45 years, to Grace (nee Bruhier). Loving father of Nathan (Nicole) Calford, Timothy (Jennifer) Calford, and Sarah (Yohan) Mahimwala. Papa of Eric, Zachary, Owen, Rhea, Tobin, Liam, Lucas, Virgil, Jacob and Zander. Brother of Kenneth (Beverly) Calford. Uncle of Jennifer (Matt) Binks and Jefferey Calford. He will be missed by his extended family: Hannah and Kaela Robins, Amanda De Sousa, Steve (Maureen) Baker, Caroline (Steve) Porr, John Tyynela and Ruthie (David) Burd.
Ross began working for Via Rail in Sudbury in 1978, relocated to St. Catharines in 1986 and retired as a Senior Ticket Agent in 2005. He loved playing instruments, drinking coffee, lengthy games of chess and eating exclusively with chopsticks. Ross was passionate about street ministry, gardening, math, theology and welcoming anyone and everyone into his home and his life.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 followed by a Celebration of Life 11:00 am on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Scott Street Church, 339 Scott Street, St. Catharines.
