It is with broken hearts, Leo, Linda and Freddy sadly announce to our relatives and friends that our wonderful Mother Rina Borsella has died peacefully two days before her 91st birthday, at Northland Pointe, Port Colborne on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 with her daughter Linda at her side.

Rina was born January 24th, 1928 in Castropignano, Italy. In 1952 she came to Canada to start a new life and continue her journey as a wife and a mother to her three children. Rina worked at Monarch Knitting in St. Catharines as well as Interlake Steele in Thorold. Rina's love was her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking and baking for her family and sharing it with neighbours and relatives. Rina also enjoyed tending to her garden in the summer and canning her tomatoes and peaches as well as making sausage!! Rina left a smile with anyone who talked to her.

She was loved by all and was a strong lady who was able to handle any challenges that life had given her. Rina raised her children and lived in Thorold. She spent five years living at Portal Village in Port Colborne as well as the last four years at Northland Pointe where she was loved and respected by all the staff. Welcoming Rina at the gates of heaven are her parents Concetta and Domenico Carmosino, her older sister Emilia Iammarino and her older brothers Guisseppi, Antonio, Tanino and Vinceszo Carmosino. Rina will be missed by many of her nieces, nephews and cousins in Italy, Argentina, Cleveland Ohio and the Niagara Peninsula. Rina will also be missed by her neighbours and friends. We cannot see mom but she is still with us.

She is more than a memory, she will always be a living presence especially in the hearts of her best friend and daughter Linda Trasatti and her husband Mario, her sons Leo Borsella (Alice) and Freddy Borsella. Grandchildren were life's treasure to mom. Nonna will never be forgotten and always in the hearts of Laura Borsella, Natalie Borsella, Melissa and her husband Cameron Severy, and Adam Trasatti. Bisnonna will also be missed by her great granddaughter Harper Lynn Severy.

Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 with Vigil Prayers recited at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Rite of committal at Pleasantview Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
