BALASAK, Jennie Mary (née Gregorash)

July 19, 1932 ~ December 6, 2022 – Jennie passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Millennium Trail Manor, after living with dementia for several years. Loving mother to John (Holly). Grandmother to Kelly (Kristy Isaak), Scott and Karen (Brian Kitchen) and great grandmother to Owen and Nolan Kitchen and Bowen Balasak-Isaak. She was predeceased by her parents John (1972) and Sophie “Ahaphia” (1982), and her brother Peter (1988). Born in Nakina, Ontario, Jennie was a lifelong Thorold resident. She was secretary to the first president of Brock University when it was established. Following that, she moved to Niagara College, where she spent twenty-four years as Manager of Human Resources. During that time, she also sat as president of the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario. Family will receive friends at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. followed by the rite of committal at Lakeview Cemetery.
