It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Linda Ann Atkinson on March 4, 2022 in her 66th year, from brain cancer.
She fought the hard fight right to the end. Predeceased by her beloved father John Atkinson (2007) and mother Helen (2020). Dear cousin of Sandra Bowker, Donna Doxbeck and Marilee Waddell, all of the USA. Sister-in-law to Vicki and Dominic Gazzalone. Treasured partner of John Dahmer, with whom she enjoyed countless golf games, motorcycle rides, and trips to Bahamas and Turks and Caicos. Linda retired from the Niagara Region in 2013 with 39 years of service. She had a passion for gardening and enjoyed the odd trip to the casino!
She was always there for those who needed her, whether it was dog-sitting, cat-sitting, painting or convalescing. She was a true friend in every sense of the word. When you were lucky enough to be made a friend of Linda’s, it was a friend for life. She was a special aunt to Meagan Lepp, Brittney Korman, and Samantha Gazzalone. She also enjoyed the regular Wednesday lunches with fellow retirees Janice Fluellon and Crystal Mammoliti. Best fried to Maureen Marshall, Debbie (Terry) Nykolaishen and Shelley (Dave) Biro who were able to keep her comfortable at Moe’s home with the help of Jan Duncan-Kalen (Para Med), Karen (VON), Dr. Amanda Lepp, Dr. Manser, Norah Bridges (LHIN) and the Palliative Care team during her illness.
Special thanks also to Andrea Green for her compassionate care and support during this time. Linda will be forever missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. At Linda’s request, cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, Thorold.
