OHL roundup: Bloom leads Battalion to 6-5 win over Wolves in overtime

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Josh Bloom completed a hat trick with a goal at 2:01 of overtime as the North Bay Battalion edged the Sudbury Wolves 6-5 in Ontario Hockey League action on Sunday.

Kyle McDonald, Matvey Petrov and Nikita Tarasevich had the other goals for the Battalion (45-17-2-1), who outshot the Wolves 43-30. Pasquale Zito chipped in with three assists, while Ty Nelson added a pair of helpers.

Chase Coughlan scored twice for the Wolves (29-28-5-3), while Kocha Delic, Landon McCallum and David Goyette netted singles.

NIAGARA, Ont. — Five different Peterborough players tallied in a 5-2 victory over the Niagara IceDogs.

Connor Lockhart, Tommy Purdeller, Avery Hayes, Chase Stillman and Gavin White scored for the Petes (34-27-2-2).

Alex Assadourian and Daniel Michaud replied for the IceDogs (12-45-8-1).

KITCHENER, Ont. — Marcus Vandenberg made 18 saves for the shutout as Kitchener blanked the visiting Kingston Frontenacs 6-0.

Carson Rehkopf scored twice for the Rangers (32-28-5-0), while Matthew Sop, Danny Zhilkin, Ty Hollett and Reid Valade netted singles.

Netminder Mason Vaccari stopped 39 of 45 shots for the Frontenacs (25-37-1-2).

OSHAWA, Ont. — Matthew Buckley scored twice and added an assist, and Cameron Butler had a goal and two assists as the Oshawa Generals defeated the visiting Mississauga Steelheads 6-3.

Luke Torrance, Beckett Sennecke and Ryan Gagnier also scored for the Generals (25-34-1-5), who led 1-0 after the first period and 4-1 heading into the third.

Lucas Karmiris, Angus MacDonell and Porter Martone scored for the Steelheads (31-28-6-0), who outshot the Generals 41-32.
