Rich Corrente threw 142 pitches to go the distance in Welland’s 10-2 win Tuesday night over Toronto.

The Maple Leafs lead the best-of-five series 2-1 and can advance to the final Wednesday at home.

Both runs charged to the Jackfish lefty were earned. He scattered 11 hits while walking three and striking out seven, improving to 2-0 in the playoffs.

Justin Gideon drove in three on a pair of hits, while Hogan Brown went 3-for-4 with an RBI and four runs. Zarley Cina had two hits and two RBI, James Smibert went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run and Matteo Porcellato added an RBI.

Justin and Dan Marra drove in Toronto’s runs. Jose Vinicio, Jordan Castaldo, Marcus Knecht and Greg Carrington all had two hits.

Zach Sloan (0-1) allowed two runs on two hits over three innings to take the loss. He walked two and struck out three.
