The Welland Jackfish, Niagara's sports entertainment destination, is excited to announce our second signing of the 2024 season, the West Coast League sultan of swat, Torrin Vaselenak!
The Coaldale, Alta. native joins the fish following an outstanding 2024 season with the Lethbridge Bulls. In 50 games played, Torrin led the league in home runs (12) and earned himself a spot in the 2023 WCBL All-Star Game in Okotoks, Alta.
“If your life is dull and boring, so much so that you're always snoring, don’t worry because we’ll be scoring, because we have signed a dude his name is Torrin," said Jackfish general manager, Jason McKay
Torrin is a former Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevil where he spent four years.
The Jackfish return to The Pond on Saturday, May 18 at 6:05 p.m. for their 2024 Home Opener. Season membership and flex plans are on sale now online or by calling 905-735-9834.
The Welland Jackfish are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
