INTERCOUNTY BASEBALL LEAGUE

The Welland Jackfish scored six runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Guelph Royals 9-6 Tuesday during Intercounty Baseball League action at David E. Hastings Stadium.
The Royals got RBI singles from McCoy Pearce, Luis Jean, and an RBI double from Matteo Porcellato to lead the big inning.
Pearce had a huge night at the plate with five hits and three RBI, while Porcellato had two hits and three RBI.
The Royals had 10 hits, with every batter in their lineup getting a hit.
Brandon Underhill got the win on the mound striking out four in three innings of work. Yomar Concepcion took the loss despite having seven strikeouts in seven innings of work.
The Jackfish improve to 15-6 and host the Brantford Red Sox Thursday at 7:25 p.m. The Royals are now 7-13 and visit the Barrie Baycats Thursday at 7:35 p.m.
