WELLAND - The Welland Jackfish pounded out 13 runs on 16 hits in a 13-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday during Intercounty Baseball League action at Welland Stadium.

Carlos Martinez swung a big bat with three hits and three RBI, while Steven Moretto also had three hits and two RBI.
Johnathan Solazzo had the lone RBI for the Maple Leafs.

James Bradwell was outstanding on the mound striking out 11 in six innings of work to get the win. James Bradwell was tagged with the loss.

Long ball carries Baycats over Cardinals

BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats got home runs from three different players as they defeated the Hamilton Cardinals 9-3 Saturday during Intercounty Baseball League action at Vintage Throne Stadium.

Starlin Rodriguez led the way with two hits, including a home run and three RBI. Ryan Rijo and Hayden Jaco each had two hits, one of which was a homer, to go along with two RBI.

Luis Bernardo had two hits for the Cards.

Baycats starter Brad Grieveson got the win, while Colby Ring took the loss on the mound.

Red Sox hang a big W over Majors

BRANTFORD - On the strength of two big innings, the Brantford Red Sox belted out a 10-1 win over the London Majors Saturday during Intercounty Baseball League action at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

Lucas Bateman hit a two-run double, while Tyler Wilson hit a two-run single to lead the way for the five-run Red Sox fourth inning. Nick Burdett then hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning, where the Sox struck four times. Thanks to his RBI double, Gus Wilson started the Red Sox scoring in the third inning.

Tommy Reyes-Cruz and Cleveland Brownlee had two hits each for the Majors.

Red Sox starter Isaiah Ramos struck out eight in seven innings of work to get the win. Jaryd Lund was tagged with the loss.

Panthers pitching stymies Royals

GUELPH - The Kitchener Panthers pitching pounced all over the Guelph Royals Saturday, leading to a 4-0 win at David E. Hastings Stadium in Intercounty Baseball League action.

Starter Yamichel Perez was brilliant striking out eight in six innings of work to lead the way earning the win. Despite giving up four runs, Hector Yan was also fantastic on the mound striking out nine in five innings in a losing effort.

Liam Wilson got the Panthers offence going early with a two-run home run. Jett Jarvis had two hits.
Ethan Hammond and Brendan Keys had two hits each for the Royals.
