After losing the night before, the Welland Jackfish bounced back with a 9-5 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Sunday during Intercounty Baseball League action at Dominico Field at Christie Pits.

Scoring one run in the first and second innings, the Jackfish got RBI singles from McCoy Pearce and Sam Cawker, while Luis Jean hit an RBI double in the fourth inning to score four. Pearce added a home run in the seventh inning.

Garrett Takamatsu swung the big bat for the Maple Leafs, with three hits and two RBI.

Adam Jafine got the win on the mound, striking out seven in five innings of work. Deivy Mendez got the save, striking out six and giving up no runs on three hits in three innings of work.

The Jackfish are now 14-3 and host the Kitchener Panthers on Thursday at 7:25 p.m. The Maple Leafs drop to 10-7 and host the Barrie Baycats Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
