A local charity raffle is on its final push as The Fonthill Lions Club gets ready to hand over a giant, 3-foot milk chocolate bunny to one lucky winner. The chocolate bunny was made by Nigh's Chocolates and can be obtained through buying a 'Bet on the Bunny'-raffle ticket.

But even if you aren't a chocolate fan, there are good reasons to participate.

“If it is too much chocolate for one household, people can still support the Fonthill Lions by buying tickets and possibly make some seniors happy by donating it” said Steven Pellerin, President of the Fonthill Lions.

“We have made arrangements with Niagara Health Extended Long-Term Care to accept a donation. If the winner decides to bequeath, the chocolate bunny will be displayed at the Welland hospital site for the week before Easter. It will then be divided up by their kitchen staff to be shared among residents and health care workers on Easter Sunday. It’s a win-win. The Lions get support and bunny is used to make many people smile.”

The draw will be held this Sunday, and tickets can be bought here.

The Fonthill Lions Club is also hosting its third Drive-Thru Dinner this Sunday March 28 from 4:00 -6:00pm featuring ham, baked potato, rutabaga veggies and butter tart dessert.
