Weather advisory issued for:

  •    Niagara Falls - Welland - Southern Niagara Region

Current details:
Winter weather travel advisory in effect this morning.

Hazards:
Poor visibility at times in bursts of heavier snow.
Local accumulations of 5 to 8 cm.

Timing:
This morning.

Discussion:
A band of lake effect snow off of Lake Erie will shift north into the area by 6 a.m. The timing of the heavier snow may impact the morning commute. The band should weaken later this morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
