Police attended the scene of a vehicle incident on Sunday morning on Welland Canals Parkway and Chapel Street in the area of the Lock 7 viewing centre.
Around 9 a.m crews were working on the scene as a totalled car was being transported away.
A police officer on the scene declined to provide more information on the incident.
Several witnesses said on social media that they saw a fire raging on the bridge earlier during the morning.
