The Thorold Seniors Centre is celebrating its 40th anniversary this Saturday, and the Thorold Senior Citizens Association is going all out.

"We have lots of things planned," the association's president Brenda Bator tells ThoroldToday. “It’s amazing actually. It’s really nice to be able to celebrate the 40th anniversary.”

In the morning, the centre will be doling out the Senior of the Year Awards.

“We’ll also be unveiling our new name and possibly our new logo,” says Bator.

At noon, the centre will host a celebratory barbecue, with a concert from local band On Tap.

“There will be music out there,” says Bator. “Our choir is going to come and sing and then we have lots of things for the kids to do.”

There will be croquet and corn hole, face painting, and a photo booth.

“Bring your kids, bring your grandkids,” say Bator. “Just come on out and have a nice time.”

The 40th anniversary celebration will take place this Saturday, June 15. The Thorold Senior of the Year Awards will kick off at 10 a.m. and the barbecue and celebration will start at 12 p.m.
