Thorold family doctor Geoffrey Sinton is closing his practice at the end of October, a source at Dr. Sinton's office confirmed to ThoroldToday.ca. The reason for the closure of Dr. Sinton’s office seems to be retirement. With this news Thorold will have one family doctor less in its community.

Due to a shortage of medical professionals it's become notoriously difficult to find a family doctor. To alleviate the issue three new doctors opened up shop at the Thorold Family Health Centre back in July, bringing the total available family doctors in the local community to 14. With the closing of Dr. Sinton's practice the number will go down to 13, and it will be a little harder once again to find a family physician.

For those who do not have a family doctor and would like to view a list of those accepting patients, they can visit Find a Doctor - Niagara Region, Ontario for a complete listing.
