It’s that time of year again as the Ontario Provincial C Championships take place this weekend. The baseball championship, which will be hosted by the Thorold Anchors, will take place from September 3rd to September 6th and at the end a new provincial winner will be crowned.

At 7.30pm tonight the Thorold Anchors will be taking on the Midland Mariners at McMillan Park in their first game of the championship. Said Aaron McInnis, manager for the Thorold Anchors, "“I think (the team) is better than it’s been in years before. We have to get over the hurdle of Friday night. We always have a tough time getting over that hurdle. If we can get through tonight’s game then there’s probably no stopping us. I think we have a really good shot at being the last one standing."

To keep up to date on how the championship is going this weekend go to this website which will be regularly updated throughout the weekend. As always the team asks that you bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Community Care.
