A free cafe seminar on Alzheimer’s in Thorold will set the record straight on the condition, and discuss treatment options, and presentations on how to prevent, or manage the disease.

Healthy Brains Cafe, held Sunday May 15 at Holy Rosary Hall on Queen St. comes as the region enters its third year of the pandemic, which has kept the community apart and made events like this one almost impossible.

“We have all endured because of it, all of us are at greater risk, said event organizer Tim O’Brien, a Knights of Columbus 2319 member.

“This event and future ones the Knights and Our Lady of the Holy Rosary parish coordinate will help us all reconnect with each other through much needed social interactions. Social distancing and optional mask protocols will be respected. Let’s get together as we are all in this together.”

Speakers will include representatives from Alzheimer Society Niagara Region, and the event is free and will feature some Italian translation.

The presentations will be held in the

Holy Rosary Hall, 35 Queen St. S. at 10:45 am and a second session at 12:15 pm.

Over 500,000 Canadians are living with dementia today.
