There’s still time to help the Friends of Beaverdams Church

Annual yard sale is online and ends today

Fundraising efforts everywhere have been drastically changed by the pandemic and those of the Friends of Beaverdams Church (FOBC) are no different.

Concentrated strategies by the FOBC have gained great momentum over recent years and the appearance of the historic building is approaching its original glory.  The Methodist church which was originally constructed in 1832, has seen new siding, windows and foundation. These are the key restoration milestones that have been completed but there’s still more to come.

But just as the attention of the committee turned to restoring the interior of the Church, located on Marlatts Road in the village of Beaverdams, the Coronavirus outbreak posed a particular threat to a committee with a substantial contingent of seniors.

One of their most important initiatives each year is their annual yard sale featuring unique and quality items donated by supporters.

But, undaunted, the FOBC deftly changed gears and offered the yard sale in an online format. Beginning this past Monday, the virtual yard sale has seen steady traffic of buyers and those wishing to make donations.

The sale is scheduled to wrap up today, Friday July 24 with plenty of items and opportunities to support the noble efforts still available.
