Are you an exemplary student-athlete from Thorold, in need of some financial aid for your higher education? You should throw your name in the hat for the ‘Open The Door’ scholarship, before applications close at the end of the week.

It is the second year in a row that the scholarship, which is a collaboration between the White Family Foundation and the Runway of Recognition, is being awarded.

The goal of the scholarship is to provide one male and one female local high school student with up to $10,000 annually for four years, to help them further their higher education. By removing financial barriers, the team behind the scholarship hopes that students will be able to focus on achieving their goals.

To apply, you need to provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher or an athletic coach, a copy of your high school transcript, and an acceptance letter from an accredited post-secondary institution within Canada.

Applications close on April 30 and the lucky receipts will be announced later this year.
