Public Health Ontario reported 321 new COVID cases today.
The latest updates noted 384 recoveries and nine new deaths. There was one more death that occurred more than a month ago also added to the cumulative total today, for an increase of 10 deaths in the latest report.
The Oct. 26 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:
- 2,978 active, lab-confirmed cases, down from 3,051 yesterday.
- 215 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.
- There are 105 COVID-positive patients in the ICU plus another 29 patients no longer testing positive for COVID-19.
- There are 69 COVID-positive patients on ventilators and another 22 patients on ventilators no longer testing positive for COVID.
- 10,964,047 Ontarians (about 74 per cent of the total population) have been fully vaccinated. 88 per cent of eligible Ontarians have at least one dose of vaccine.
- The new cases include 158 unvaccinated, 12 partially vaccinated, and 118 fully vaccinated cases. 33 cases were reported with vaccination status unknown.
- There are 91 unvaccinated, 13 partially vaccinated, and 27 fully vaccinated individuals hospitalized with COVID but not in the ICU.
- There are 60 unvaccinated, eight partially vaccinated, and 16 fully vaccinated individuals in ICUs with COVID-19.
- The seven-day average incidence rate by vaccination status is 5.7 cases per 100,000 unvaccinated people, 2.5 cases per 100,000 partially vaccinated people, and 1.1 cases per 100,000 fully vaccinated people.
- The province reported 21,827 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 1.5 per cent positivity rate.
- Of the new cases reported today, 66 are from Toronto, 16 are from Peel, 13 are from Simcoe-Muskoka, and 33 are from York Region.
- Today's new cases include 72 individuals under 12 years old, 21 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 87 people between 20 and 39 years old, 86 people between 40 and 59 years old, 51 people between 60 and 79 years old, and two people over 79 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 598,431 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 585,591 recoveries and 9,862 deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, 30,499 people have been hospitalized with COVID and 5,974 of them were in intensive care units.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 4,061.4 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate last week was 17.9 cases per 100,000 people, which is down by 9.6 per cent compared to the week of Oct. 11.
