Moral of this story: Don't leave anything valuable — especially your spouse's keys — inside your car.

Police in Guelph are investigating after a husband and wife each had their vehicles stolen from different locations.

At approximately 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, a man called police to report that his black 2012 Mercedes coupe had been stolen from the parking lot of his workplace on Massey Road.

Twenty minutes later, he called back to report a second theft. He had called his wife to pick him up from work, but when she went outside their residence in the area of Farley Drive and Clairfields Drive East, she saw that her white 2014 Infiniti was missing.

A key for the Infiniti had been left inside the Mercedes.
