Niagara resident in the 20-39 age group dies after testing positive for COVID-19

Fifth person in that age group to pass away since the pandemic began

Another Niagara resident has died after testing positive for COVID-19, Public Health reports.

The resident was in the 20 to 39 age group, and is the fifth regional resident in that age bracket to die after contracting the virus.

The update came as Public Health reported 67 new cases of the virus on Friday.

Niagara Health said 37 patients in the hospital system are currently infected with the virus.

Of them, 26 are being primarily treated for the virus. 4 of them are in the ICU.
